"Every time I collaborate with Jace, we don’t discuss much about the direction of the artwork, we usually let our styles flow on the canvas each other naturally for most of our painting progress. On this label artwork, we tried to have our passion, paint strokes and spray paint splashes resonate with each other. It's inspired by how the vibration of sound affects humans' cells." - Taka Sudo

"I recently became inspired by the concept of spiritual awakening. 7 chakras in rainbow colors and the 7 music notes are suitable visual elements for this project since the name ‘sonopsychotic’ made me think of psychological reaction by the sounds of a cell. The skull in the middle is awakened by the energy of sound, light and supreme consciousness and I hope that energy can be brought by the Hypha Project." - Jace Kim

Jace Junggyu Kim is a Canadian painter currently based in Vancouver, BC. He worked in various game and motion graphic companies as a digital artist but he made a drastic transition to become a traditional painter. Creating the most of the tension between the figurative and the abstract, his expression on canvas arises from the meeting and combination of various artistic materials; oil, acrylic, ink, spray paint and so on. An abstract chaos capable of giving rise to an emotional overlap plays as a background to the purity and refinement of the portraiture depicted with both obsessive and expressive brush strokes.

Taking influences from those totally different environment to create the unique style of artworks. Scattered abstract elements composed of neon color, neutral color, newsprint and photo collage etc assemble into organic shapes, to find out strong true energy among real and unreal. Those scattered various elements in abstraction are the representation of our environment, existence, daily life, current affairs, information, and each person’s passion, energy etc.
